Smackdown Alert: KG vs KG

This is extremely exciting news in the entertainment world: Kate Gosselin, who recently wrapped up her two-day stint on The View has just announced that she will join the panel for one more day. Why, you might ask? Well, apparently Gosselin wants to confront that days' guest host KATHY GRIFFIN for a video she recently aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live called "Kate is Enough". It's going to get real. I, for one, cannot wait to see these two exchange verbal jabs. Here is the video, in case you wanted to see it:

Santogold, You Go Hard

Damnit, Alexa Chung, I may despise you and your terrible show, It's On With Alexa Chung, but you do manage to snare some pretty awesome guests. Today Chung featured musical guest Santigold (previously Santogold) who is basically fantastic in every way. She's original and fresh, chirpy, and excellent live. She also made a pit stop at Jay-Z's 9/11 concert last Friday where they performed "Brooklyn Go Hard" together. Here's her performance of "Lights Out" on Chung's show:

Beck and the Record Club

So musical genius Beck decided to start recording some group jam sessions he's hosted at his house (as if he isn't doing enough) and nicknamed them The Record Club. This time around the group includes Devendra Banhart, Ben, Andrew and Will from MGMT, Andrew from Wolfmother, Binki from Little Joy, and Brian and Bram returning from the first Record Club. The whole idea is to record an entire album in a day; the album for this session is "Songs of Leonard Cohen" by Leonard Cohen. Below, find one of my favorites so far.

Schmemmy Post

So right now, the Creative Arts Emmy's (or Schmemmy's as Kathy Griffin calls it) are taking place. And, to my chagrin, Justin Timberlake picked up the win for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. Damnit, Emmy voters. Just had to pick my second choice, didn't you?

More updates to come later.

Jay Z, Kid Cudi, Ratatat, MGMT- What a Night

Last night, up and coming rapper Kid Cudi made a quick stop on David Letterman to perform his newest single, "Pursuit of Happiness" off of his new album "Man on the Moon" which comes out next week. The song features instrumental group Ratatat and the indie-electro band MGMT (one of my favorites. Their Prospect Park show this summer was incredible). It's an amazing song off of an amazing album (I'll review it later) but here is the performance from last night:

Later, he popped over to the Jay-Z benefit concert at Madison Square Garden (wish I was there...) where they performed "Already Gone." Jay-Z had so many guests (Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Cudi, John Mayer, Santigold, Rihanna, Kanye West, etc.) it should have been billed as "Jay-Z featuring..."

I'm Sorry About this Post in Advance

So my brother and I stumbled across this video a few days before I left for school and it cheered us up. It is entirely offensive and completely stupid, but I think everyone deserves the chance to see it at least once. Please to enjoy, Retarded Running Horse:

Interestingly enough, it's a real song called "Chacarron Macarron" by some group El Mudo.

Stay Out Of It, Nick Lachey

This is one of the funniest moments from The Soup (hosted by the hilarious Joel McHale, Friday nights on E! at 10:00). Nick Lachey, formerly of 98 Degrees boyband fame (?), stops by One Tree Hill and McHale and his crew honor his performance:

The Smurf Movie=FAIL

We all know The Smurfs, that campy TV show that was always on with the one girl smurf and Gilgamesh the Wizard and that cat. Well now, the powers that be have decided to screw it all up by making a CGI Smurf movie. The first image from said movie was released today, and it SUCKS.How cheestastic does that thing look? You FAIL Columbia Pictures. Thanks for ruining a childhood classic.
